The Content Design Co.

About the Project

The Content Design Co. (TCDC) offers courses, templates, and other educational resources to content designers struggling to get their foot in the door. With a focus on actionable steps that produce immediate results, The Content Design Co. is a centralized hub where content designers can learn the skills they need to build successful careers from scratch. Created by a quirky former professor-turned-founder, “The Co.” breaks away from the stuffy bootcamp model and instead provides a fun and laid-back learning environment where aspiring content designers can quickly get the hands-on experience needed to build a career of fun, freedom, and flexibility.

Project Goals

As a newly established organization, TCDC needed clear visual branding and a website to establish a strong presence and authority within the industry. Because TCDC is an organization teaching content design, there needed to be a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusion in the visual branding and messaging. Additionally, we needed to subtly convey the brand’s lighthearted and fun energy while not sacrificing professionalism.

The brand logo was centered around the ‘Co’ motif. ‘Co’ has multiple meanings within the brand, including (but not limited to) community, connection, and cooperation. To demonstrate this connection, the ‘Co’ motif is depicted in several areas of the design.

The letters of ‘Co’ are intentionally connected to show the organization’s commitment to connection and unity of its members. The ‘Co’ shape is also mirrored in “Content” to show that this harmony and connect also applies to the content design principles they teach. Finally, the ‘n’ in Design extends beneath the ‘Co’ to show that the Co. is supported by a solid foundation.

The primary logo gives off a clean and minimal vibe with clear structure, while still maintaining a playful and open feel. The simplicity allows the logo to remain recognizable but not overwhelming, and it can continue to grow with the brand throughout the years.

We maintained cleanliness and accessibility by incorporating clean sans-serif fonts for the main headings and body text. Handwritten text is also sprinkled throughout the design to communicate the brand’s fun personality.

Additionally, wireframe-style elements are included throughout the design to mimic the wireframing stage that is essential in any UX/UI design.
