About

Alyssa Dougherty is a central Florida-based photographer specializing in weddings, portraits, and maternity shoots. With a distinctive light and airy style that embodies Florida’s coastal landscape, Alyssa brings outstanding photography and her sunny personality to clients both locally and around the globe.

The Goals

As a local wedding and portrait photographer with several years of experience and dozens of clients under her belt, Alyssa needed a full website redesign to attract more premium wedding clients and simplify the inquiry and onboarding processes. So we set out on our mission to create a website built for a wedding photographer with premium service offerings.

Our main challenge would be organizing Alyssa’s various different packages into simple offers to reduce decision fatigue and confusion for clients interested in Alyssa’s services. We also needed to create an elevated experience for potential clients from the moment they first land on the website to the final booking. Finally, we needed the website to be dynamic and easy enough for Alyssa to manage and edit on her own without having to worry about things breaking or not working as intended.

Primary Logo

Alyssa wanted to attract more premium wedding clients to her business, so we needed a logo that was simple, easy to read, and immediately translated that premium feel. Her original logo was still in use on physical products (e.g. business cards, merch, etc.), so she didn’t want a huge change. We kept the same word mark style of her original logo, but refined the type so it was more legible, flexible, and premium-feeling.

Submark

When creating a logo, it’s impossible to predict all the different ways it might be used. It could be blown up on giant billboards or shrunken down for tiny pixelated screens, so baked-in responsiveness is essential. As with all of our branding packages, we provided Alyssa with three variations of her logo (primary, secondary, and submark). This gave her flexibility and cohesive branding no matter where she was using the logo.

We paired the website with a simplified branding package to give Alyssa the essential guidelines she would need to maintain her brand. It provides font combinations, color pairings, example use cases, and download links for easily accessing fonts, logo files, and more.

Brand Board for Alyssa Dougherty wedding photographer website

Alyssa had dozens of services to organize, so we started by breaking up her individual packages into two main categories: weddings or portraits.

Once we simplified the categories, we were able to group all the wedding packages and portrait packages on their own pages. This change makes it easier for clients to find the right package and get their basic questions answered.

On each page, we also included FAQs and a step-by-step process from inquiry to booking to the day of the event to reduce confusion and improve conversions.

We used SEO-friendly headings and meta descriptions for each page and incorporated keywords throughout the content for more organic visibility. We also improved the organization on Alyssa’s blog to allow for users to find relevant articles more easily.

For better usability, we also ensured that the site was responsive and easy to navigate on all device sizes.

Alyssa Dougherty wedding photographer mobile website design

In preparation for the launch of the new website, we prepared a handful of launch graphics and templates Alyssa could share through her Instagram, emails, or other marketing materials. This mini graphics suite also served as a visual guideline for how to design social media posts or infographics going forward.

By the end of the project, we were able to simplify Alyssa’s services and individual packages, create structured layouts that are easy for potential clients and search engines to understand, and develop reusable templates and layouts that make it easy for Alyssa to maintain a cohesive look and feel for her brand.

Asked & Answered

While timing may vary between projects, most banding or website projects take at least 6-8 weeks to complete. This allows us to take our time creating comprehensive solutions for your biz that will actually move the needle.

Projects are typically scheduled 2-3 months in advance, so reach out to us for a consultation if you’re considering a rebrand or new website.

*Note: If you need both branding and website services, expect an 8-12 week turnaround time.

The short answer is yes. Before we can create a website that’s consistent with the rest of your brand, you’ll need to have established branding with the following assets:

  • Logo Suite (primary logo + variations)
  • Color Palette
  • Typography
  • Style Guidelines

If you need a website but don’t already have branding, we can help. You can hire us to do your branding first with a custom branding package.

If you already have all the above assets from another designer, we can use them to build your custom website with a website package.

Copywriting is typically included in our website packages. However, if you would like to use your own copywriter, we can collaborate with them during the design process instead.

We may also offer copywriting services separately as needed. Please inquire about this service on a per-project basis.

We specialize in WordPress and Shopify builds, choosing the right platform based on your specific business needs and goals.

WordPress is perfect for service providers, content-heavy websites (blogs, courses, webinars), and businesses that need custom functionality and flexibility. Shopify is our go-to for e-commerce focused businesses, especially those with affiliate partnerships, subscription models, or plans to scale their product offerings. Both platforms give us the freedom to create custom solutions tailored to how your business actually operates.

We collect a 50% deposit before the project begins. The remaining balance is split into two milestone payments: 25% at the midpoint and 25% upon final delivery. Alternate payment plans are also available upon request.

We accept all major credit cards and ACH bank transfers.

Our initial meeting will take place via Google Meet. After this, meetings will only be necessary to clarify project details (i.e. revision requests, project approval, etc.).

Generally, all other communications will be sent via email.

Once your project is booked, you will also gain access to our Client Portal. This is where you can see all relevant information related to your project, including shared documents, invoices, contracts, and more.

You will receive files in the following file formats as needed:

  • Logos: SVG, PNG, JPG, EPS, Ai
  • Packaging & Print: EPS, Ai, PDF
  • Presentations: PDF
  • Website Mockups: Figma file, PDF
  • Copy assets: Google Doc file, PDF
